🔨 How It’s Made
All our jewelry comes from the hand of master alchemist John King, who transforms real natural objects into lasting talismans using the ancient magic of electroplating. Each four-leaf clover is carefully selected from a living plant (Trifolium repens) that we’ve lovingly grown and tended for years, originally sourced from the UK Royal Botanical Gardens.
Four-leaf clovers are rare, estimated at just 1 in 5,000 in the wild and even within our cultivated plant, only around 20–30% of the leaves form with four leaflets. They must be picked at exactly the right moment: clovers grow quickly and can become too large, and they follow a delicate day–night rhythm, opening with the sun and folding at night. Because of this natural movement, clovers are one of the items we gently press, to preserve their iconic shape and symmetry before the sealing process begins.
The clovers are then sealed fresh by hand in specialised epoxy to make them fully water- and airtight. A stainless steel loop is glued on with care, a meticulous process with something so fine and fragile. Next, the piece is submerged in a copper bath, forming a fine 0.2 micron foundation. After drying, it’s plated in a final layer of 24K gold, then hand-polished to finish.
The entire process takes about a week, involving delicate steps, quiet attention, and deep care. It creates a truly one-of-a-kind piece that holds both story and soul. Plated jewelry may gently fade or tarnish over time depending on wear and care. But rest assured: all our jewelry comes with a lifetime replating service at shipping cost only.
