We regularly get the question: "How do we do that?" Here we take a look behind the scenes and show how things work in our studio.

Real four-leaf clover - 24 carat gold plated

All our jewelry is crafted by master alchemist John King, who transforms real natural objects into durable talismans using the centuries-old technique of electroplating. Each four-leaf clover is carefully selected from a living Trifolium repens plant that we have lovingly cared for for years, originally from the Royal Botanical Gardens in the United Kingdom.

Four-leaf clovers are rare: in nature, on average, only one occurs for every 5,000 clovers. Even on our own cultivated plants, only about 20-30% of the four-leaf clovers form leaves. They must be picked at precisely the right moment: clover grows quickly, can become too large, and moreover follows a subtle day-night rhythm – in the morning the leaf opens in the sunlight, in the evening it folds closed again. Because of this natural movement, four-leaf clovers are among the few products that we carefully press so that their iconic shape and symmetry are perfectly preserved before the galvanizing process begins.

Next, each clover is cast by hand and sealed with a special epoxy resin, making it completely watertight and airtight. Next, a stainless steel eyelet is attached with utmost precision—a meticulous process given the delicate and fragile natural shape. After curing, the piece is placed in a copper bath, forming a base layer. Once dried, it is immersed again in liquid 24-karat gold, immortalizing the clover in a thin layer of gold 0.2 microns thick. Finally, after drying, each piece of jewelry is carefully polished by hand and individually packaged.

The entire process takes about a week and consists of delicate operations. The result is a completely unique piece of jewelry with a soul and a story.
